The new 2012 Mia Mia collection by the fabulous English designer Alan Hannah is a totally refreshing collection of bohemian style gowns with a beautifully classic elegance a great combination for our brides. Alan and Margaurette use the most beautiful fabrics too, with ooodles of silk duchesse, silk slipper satin and silk organza.

The aim of the Mia Mia label is to offer a slice of Couture in an accessible, ready to wear option, using luxurious fabrics and detailing. Even better news is that the new 2012 collection also comes in half sizes, making sure we get an ever closer fit prior to alteration. good eh!

Taking into account the excellent fabrics and workmanship, the gowns also represent excellent value for money with the range price between £1,100 and £1,600.

Well it is that time of year again!

We have been on all of our summer shopping trips now and we are very pleased to report that the boutique is bursting with brand new collections for our beautiful brides.

The first collection to arrive in store is the much anticipated Alandra Collection by Maggie Sottero. After a hugely successful designer weekend in early August we were so excited to finally get our hands on our very own collection.

We have 11 dresses from this new collection with prices ranging from £950 – £1479 in a range of different fabrics and colour options.

With Soft Shimmer Satins, Tulles, Bordeaux Taffeta, Corded Lace, Paris Chiffon and hand made flowers and embellishments this really is one of the most stunning collections around. the gowns have to be seen to be appreciated.

It is only just over 2 weeks away until we attend the British Bridal Exhibition in Harrogate (the biggest trade event n the industry) to choose our collections for next year. Ok so you may have seen on twitter some mutterings and growing industry speculation about a brand new concept in wedding shows coming to market this summer. Well the official launch day is here and we are thrilled to announce our arrival. 

Three Girls & a Wedding are very proud and excited to announce their launch to the bridal industry. Here is our story……

What started as a brief “what if there was” conversation in early 2011 has rapidly transformed into a remarkable concept that will be brought to market by Thee women from established and respected bridal industry businesses. Hayley Hoyle Owner of the Harrogate Wedding Lounge, Cat Hepple Owner of Cat Hepple Photography and Sharon Crampton Owner of Blush Bespoke Flowers are now launching Three Girls & a Wedding.

The concept is a new style of bridal show located in the North of England that will be dedicated to “the experience” rather than the hard sell. A show that will evoke the senses and excite our visitors leaving them inspired, informed and having really experienced what their wedding could be like.

We want to change the way brides engage with suppliers, view their work and make decisions about whom to choose and for what. The end result will be a breathtaking showcase of the industry’s leading suppliers in a stylish, creative format that will see our brides and grooms transported to the very day itself, and a way in which nobody else is exhibiting at the moment.

With an emphasis on interaction by both suppliers and couples the show will see a beautiful, elegant display of various trends that are hot in the world of bridal and the ability to let imagination be your only limitation.

Three Girls & a Wedding will be unveiling this unique concept in a preview format with a stand at The Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate 12th – 14th July. Having engaged with high end suppliers to create 3 amazing sets that will transport visitors to fabulous celebrations in different era’s and styles.

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Nikki Foster, Founder of IDo Designer Weddings. Nikki approached us to see if she could come and spend some time in our lovely boutique and chat to us about the services we offer to our brides.

It was immediately apparent that Nikki is extremely passionate about her business and her clients and just the kind of business we like to promote to our brides. I asked Nikki to write a little about her business and the services she offers. Here is what she said.

This is a collection we are hugely excited about as we see some wonderfully unique designs coming through as well as the long awaited return of the tea length and short dresses and beautifully intricate vintage detailing.

Well we are well and truly in the mood for Christmas here at the Harrogate Wedding Lounge. I love this time of year and when the dark nights set in by 3pm the shop seems to look even more beautiful with all the sparkles and the chandeliers glinting. 

Last week we perfected our Christmas window, we went for an opulent Purple and Gold theme and we just loved it so much we asked the very lovely Cat of Cat Hepple Photography www.cathepplephotography.com to come and capture the essence of Christmas at The Harrogate Wedding Lounge.

Most of you will be aware with have worked with Cat a number of times before and I truly adore her work and her passion for her art. Cat has taken some stunning images which we are so grateful for and we have chosen a few to share with you below, let us know what you think I will add some more images early next week too!

Over the years I became increasingly frustrated by the lack of gift options as a guest at weddings and birthdays and as someone who often gave cash gifts at special occasions I was never too keen on the tradition of leaving a cash envelope on a table.  I do know however that as a bride or groom-to-be today, with so many of us tightening our belts in this economic downturn, I would always prefer to have cash gifts to spend at leisure after the celebrations have passed.  So with all of this in mind I decided to offer a simple online solution to assist people with the ever difficult task of requesting cash gifts for a special occasion, while at the same time, create a secure collection platform for party/wedding guests no matter where they are in the world.
